A bit distanced...

Journal Entry: Sat May 31, 2008, 2:49 AM
Hello all... I know I've been a bit distanced over the past week, but please don't take it personally. I have several projects at work I've been busy with including an interview for a promotion I had on Thursday, as well as many new projects that have been popping up here at home.

First and foremost, I am not avoiding you my chat friends, I've been close to brain dead when I get home at night, and then I've been having to do work for the projects popping up here at home. So, please accept my apologies, and know I will be back shortly.

Second, I haven't put up any new drawings. Again, this is due to time. I've started several sketches, but have been distracted to the point of being unable to complete them.

Third, everyone give a round of applause to my wife. She was brave enough to allow me to post pics I've taken of her in my gallery.

Now that I've bared all, I tip my glass of mead, and start to consider heading to bed. Take it easy all.

Protect Your Account

Journal Entry: Fri May 9, 2008, 11:46 AM
One of the artists I watch was hacked. [link] , she did no deserve this, but it comes down to one simple thing: Do not normal words or easy to guess sequences for your password. Please, to protect yourselves, use a random generated password to keep your account from being hacked. A good site to generate passwords can be found here [link] .

Again, protect your account, cause getting an account unbanned is alot harder than it is for a hacker to get it banned.

Orphan Works Bill

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 12, 2008, 9:53 PM
The more journals I see crying foul on this bill, the more I can't believe people who do such great works of art can be so blinded by ignorance.

Let's examine the article that is causing most of this hysteria: [LINK]

This man apparently has an anti goverment agenda. He is using this bill to get people worked into an ignorant ferver. What he fails to do is provide the whole truth behind the bill, which is his spin.

Now here is information on the bill itself: [LINK]

Let's examine the truth of the matter. This bill has not been before Congress since 2006. This bill would also only affect those who cannot be contacted about their work. If your work is here on DA, then it is timestamped, and your DA page is a way for you to be contacted.

I could rant on this, but won't. What I will say is this, protect your work, which only requires adding your signature, a watermark, and/or contact information to your piece of work. Also, by submitting your work here on DA protects it by timestamping it and providing a way for you to be contacted. In short people, read the facts before letting ignorance rule your judgement.

Update: TomatoDragon put some links to the actual goverment documents in his journal, follow the link to his journal to get the links for the goverment documents. [LINK]

Update 2: And now an official response from DA, sounds alot like what I said, just with more words, very much worth a read: [LINK]

Michelephant's 10 Funky Features

Journal Entry: Sat Mar 15, 2008, 11:44 AM
The rules to this journal game are simple: the first ten people to comment get a feature. I'll go through your galleries and pick the art I like best, and post a new entry with your work featured on my DA page. I'll keep the entry up for a week.

The second rule is that if you're one of the ten featured artists you must do the same drill in your journal too.

Want to be featured? Better hurry! Ready, set, comment!

Edit: Come on, only one person! One comment = a feature, what do ya have to lose.

Warning, this is going to be a long winded rant.

Ok, so an 18 y/o tells me that they have had enough experience in their short life, to be able to be the judge of someone else. What is this world coming to. Do they not think that maybe, just maybe my 31 years of life have seen me with more experiences than them, no, why, cause they were only thinking of themselves.

You know, if this is the mindset of the generation just coming to adulthood, then they really need to legalize retro-active abortion, that would quickly solve alot of issues I see arising in the future.

Being an adult is more than spouting off what you think is wisdom, it is being held accountable for your actions, both good and bad. I have made many good actions, and as such I am getting a promotion at work that finally takes me out of the hourly lackey life, and into the life of salaried management as a Business Analyst. I will be responsible for being a DB (database) administrator and as a web developer for the largest cable company in North America. Yet apparently I don't have the life expereinces of an 18 y/o who has an account here on DA.

You know what, why don't you take your low self-esteemed self and do us all a favor, and insure the gene pool does not get any further watering down. With weak genes as your's would would only pollute an already dilluted gene pool.

Whatever happened to actually punishing children while they grow up. Parents nowadays are so scared to lift a hand, that we are left with ungrateful, loud mouthed, self asorbed, ignorant, and disrespectful ingrates. If I had done half the things these kids get away with nowadays, I'd have been lucky to sit for a week, much less be allowed to continue such actions.

And back on to topic. I've been stabbed, shot, hit by a car (4 times), served the U.S. Military, had several bones broken, worked just about every job under the sun, but yet I apparently don't have the same life experience as an 18 y/o. What utter and complete BS. You were asked to apoloigize, but apparently you're above that, what with all that life experience. Had you done that one easy and simple thing, then you wouldn't need to worry about being reported. Next time use your brain, not your ego and arrogance.

----------

End rant, everyone I watch and who watch me, peace out, have a Happy Valentines Day.
